Changing your consumer behaviour is important, and not just because it reduces your own carbon emissions. It also sends a signal to the market that people want zero-carbon alternatives and are willing to pay for them.

Adopt a low-carbon lifestyle

Adopt a low-carbon lifestyle by reducing your consumption of meat, fossil fuels, and other sources of greenhouse gas emissions. Living in a low-carbon way means not adding to or minimizing the amount of CO2 entering the atmosphere. Some examples of low-carbon actions are:

  • Using renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, or hydro power for your electricity needs.
  • Driving less and using public transportation, cycling, walking, or carpooling instead.
  • Eating less meat and more plant-based foods such as fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts, and seeds.
  • Avoiding food waste and composting your organic waste.
  • Buying local and organic products that have lower environmental impacts.
  • Reusing, recycling, or donating your unwanted items instead of throwing them away.
